Date: Fri, 15 Jul 2005 17:54:46 -0400 (EDT) Subject: Fl Sectionals 09/17/2005 Vero Beach Hi all, Florida Sectionals Open will be held in Vero Beach on the weekend of September 17th. Open Division Team Tourny Cost: $200 if paid after August 16th; $150 if paid on or before August 16th. If you want the $150 fee, mail checks before August 16th for open division teams to: Jim Martinez 6510 NW 29th Terr Gainesville, FL 32653 ********** Time line ********** Aug 26th UPA roster deadline [EDITORS NOTE - in email this date was incorrect] Sep 17th Florida Sectionals (Vero Beach) Oct 1st Regionals (Orlando) Oct 27th - 30th Nationals (Sarasota) If your team doesn't file a roster by Aug 16th, the UPA charges a $50 late-roster fee. If your team submits a roster that changes after Aug 16th, the upa charges a $50 late-roster fee. Note upa fees are independent of and not included in the tourny costs. The more rosters we get in on time, the more bids we get to regionals. Pete Masone is doing much of the sectionals organization. Both Eric Gilmore, the mixed SC, and Beth Scanlon, the woman's SC, are doing work to make this happen too. Thanks Pete, Eric and Beth!!! Looks like we'll be able to use the barn at the Polo fields on Saturday after play. Details on tourny amenities are still being worked out. We're also looking into hotel blocks and a group rate. Those details will be announced soon, but the date is firm, the weekend of September 18th. This year I'd like to take ideas that I've heard and implement them - creating some entity to help organize and to some degree promote Florida ultimate. At the least this entity could hold sectionals money from one year to the next. If you have any questions or comments about rosters, Florida sectionals, the UPA fall series in general, or ideas for this Florida ultimate organization (and it's goals), contact me. Date: Sat, 25 Jun 2005 20:03:03 -0400 (EDT) Subject: 2005 Florida Open Sectionals & Regionals Hi all, At his moment, there's only 12 weeks before Florida sectionals and 14 before regionals. And regionals will be in Orlando! Here's the latest regionals info: Regionals will be on October 1st and 2nd at the Seminole Soccer Complex in Lake Mary Florida (Orlando suburb). Thanks to Eric Gilmore for getting the bid! I'm working with Eric, Peter Masone and Beth Scanlon to finalize the details for sectionals. Looks like it'll be on the weekend of September 17th in the same location it was last year, Vero Beach. More information on sectionals soon. Recall the number of Florida bids to regionals is based at least in part on rosters that are submitted by AUGUST 16th. With regionals here in Florida, we should make an extra effort to have teams submit rosters by then. College teams just need one name on a roster send in by 8/16 under the college team exception rule. use this list to broadcast announcements.
Instead of you having to visit the web site to see if there is any
news (pull technology), you can subscribe to this list and you'll
receive and an email (push technology) when there are major announcements.
Announcements sent to this list will also be archived at
floridultimate.org as well as on yahoo.
Since this list is intended to push out information and not for
dialog, the list is moderated. It's intended for one way public
communication from me, the FL Open SC, to captains and/or anyone else
who wants to join the list.

Jul 15th: Sectionals date and location announced
Aug 26th: Open, Women's, Mixed Rosters due at UPA
Seep 16th: Masters Rosters due at UPA
Wed Before Sectionals: Late registration closes
Sep 10/11 or 17/18 or 24/25: possible Sectional tournament dates
Oct 1/2 or 7/8: possible Regional tournament dates
